The Corruption Case Of The Religious Court In Mukomuko Rises To Investigation, The Prosecutor's Office Has Not Named A Suspect

MUKOMUKO - Mukomuko District Attorney's Office, Bengkulu Province, has raised the status of the investigation to an investigation into a case of alleged corruption in the construction of a Religious Court building in the area.

This investigation was carried out after receiving the minutes from a team of construction experts who evaluated the building of the Religious Court.

"After investigators received the minutes from a team of construction experts regarding the results of the inspection of the Religious Court's building, we have raised the status from investigation to investigation," said Head of Special Investigation Unit of the Mukomuko District Attorney's Office, Agung Malik Rahman Hakim, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 12.

The decision was announced on the commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) in 2023.

The case, which was originally an investigation, was upgraded after further research and analysis. The Prosecutor's Office suspects irregularities in the construction of the Mukomuko Religious Court building, which has a budget of around Rp. 20 billion.

Previously, the Mukomuko Kejari had examined two Religious Court employees who acted as Commitment Making Officials and project treasurers.

The development of this case was carried out following a report from the Mukomuko Government Policy and Justice Guard Institute (LP KPK) and checking the condition of the building financed by the 2023 State Budget with a budget of Rp. 18 billion.

This investigation was carried out to ensure field data is in accordance with the documents submitted by the KPK LP.

In addition to the Religious Court case, the Mukomuko District Attorney also handled several other corruption cases whose status had been raised to investigation.

This includes cases of alleged corruption in the debt management of the Mukomuko Hospital, irregularities in the BLUD budget management at Mukomuko Hospital, misuse of unexpected expenditure budgets at the Mukomuko BPBD, and others.

The handling of these cases shows the authorities' commitment to fighting corruption and increasing transparency in the public sector.
