Campaign To Distribute Milk And Books To Children Highlighted, Gibran: If There Is A Warning, We Will Stop

JAKARTA - The vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka responded to the spotlight regarding the distribution of milk and children he did during the campaign. Gibran emphasized that the action included in his program would be stopped if Bawaslu stated that there was a violation.

"If there is a warning, we will stop it. We follow Bawaslu rules," said Gibran in Cimanggis, Depok, Monday, December 11.

Gibran stated that his party is ready to be given a warning if the campaign violates the rules set by Bawaslu.

"If there is a warning, please send it to us. If something is wrong, we are ready to be reprimanded," he said.

Even so, Gibran admitted that he had not received a warning from Bawaslu either directly or indirectly.

"Not yet," he said.

Gibran previously distributed around 500 food packages while traveling around the area in Cilincing Flat, Cempaka Putih, North Jakarta, Saturday, December 9.

During the visit, Gibran also had time to distribute notebooks to children.

In front of residents, Gibran promised to solve the problem of certification of the labor profession so that it would beautify the Cilincing Flats.

The distribution of basic necessities was then highlighted by social media activist Lukman Simandjuntak. He alluded to Bawaslu's rules regarding the threat of election crimes.

"The news of 8/12 Bawaslu is categorized for basic necessities, including money politics and can be punished, eh, the news is 10/12 Gibran with his saltuy distributing food packages," Lukman said on his X account @hipohan, Monday, December 11.

Lukman questioned Bawaslu's firmness regarding the rules made.

"Doesn't the ban apply to those who can't have dialogue/ideal complaints? Cc @bawaslu_RI," asked Lukman.
