YOGYAKARTA - Kampung televisi is a unique residential area in downtown Jakarta because it is inhabited by mobile coffee traders. Nyempil among the high buildings of Metropolitan City, this densely populated settlement is located in the Kwitang area, Central Jakarta. The settlement, which is located on Jalan Prapatan Baru, Kwitang, Central Jakarta, has been crowded with starling traders for years. The large number of mobile coffee sellers living in the alleys of the area made the place dubbed KampungUL.

Most of the residents in Kampung televisi come from Madura Island. These migrants from Madura brought their relatives and friends to try their luck in Jakarta as traders. The more acquaintances who are invited to come here, the village will then become a gathering place for migrants.

The majority of residents of Kampunghir came from one of the regencies on Madura Island, namely Sampang. The people of Sampang who initially lived or were unemployed on the ground as long as they were later interested in an invitation to travel to Jakarta. Even though they only sell coffee, the results are quite good.

Initially, the migrants from Madura who came did not immediately sell coffee around as they are known today. Previously, the migrants survived by selling bottle drinks. But over time, they chose to become starling traders.

Many starling traders live in Kampungmen for free. They can get a free place to live because from the start they were provided by agents. However, there are also traders who have to pay the cost of their place of residence.

The agents divide the residence for the traders into two, namely rooms for themselves (for bachelors) and contracts. Bujang room facilities are provided free of charge from the agents. However, they have to live in one room. Some of these foreigners are not married and some are married but choose to monitor themselves leaving their children in their hometowns.

Meanwhile, the contract rooms are provided by agents for payment or rent. This room is usually occupied by starling traders who carry their children and wives. However, there are also contract room tenants because they want to live alone.
