Makassar City Hall Searched By The Prosecutor's Office

The Makassar District Attorney's Corruption Investigation Team (Kejari), South Sulawesi searched a number of rooms at the Makassar City Hall Office to look for evidence related to alleged corruption of irregularities in land acquisition for the construction of the waste industry or energy-based waste treatment site (TPA) for the 2012-2014 fiscal year.

"The search carried out by the investigative team is an effort to strengthen the evidence of alleged irregularities in land acquisition, located in Tamalanrea Jaya Village, Tamalanrea District, Makassar," said Makassar Kejari Head Andi Sundari as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 7.

The search was carried out by investigators after four people were named as suspects, each with the initials SB as Head of the Makassar City Government Administration Section during the project, YM as Tamalanrea Sub-district Head, and IL as Tamalanrea Jaya Village Head and ASD who received power from several land owners.

For the purposes of the investigation, these suspects have been detained at the Makassar Class I Correctional Institution (Lapas) so as not to run away and try to eliminate evidence.

The land acquisition project is budgeted from 2012-2014 which comes from the Makassar City Regional Budget (APBD) through the Government Section at the Makassar City Regional Secretariat with an overall land area that has been acquired and paid by the Makassar City Government, which is 11.8 hectares.

Meanwhile, the total budget disbursed by the Makassar City Government since 2012-2014 has reached more than IDR 71 billion. The land acquisition was carried out in three stages, with details, for the 2012 Fiscal Year, the land area was acquired by 0.5 hectares with compensation of more than IDR 3.5 billion.

Furthermore, the 2013 Fiscal Year, the area of land that has been acquired is 6.2 hectares with a compensation value of more than Rp37.4 billion and the 2014 Fiscal Year for the land area that has been acquired covering an area of 5 hectares with a compensation value that has been paid of more than Rp30 billion.

The search was based on the Search Order of the Head of the Makassar District Attorney's Office number: Print-04 /P.4.10 / Fd.1/12/2023 dated December 5, 2023, which was carried out on Wednesday (6/12), from 09.00 WITA to 21.30 WITA.

The search was carried out at the City Hall building which has something to do with the case, namely the Makassar City Land Office, Government Administration Section, and Makassar City Government Legal Section. Then a search at the private residences of suspects SB, ASD, IL, and YM.

"From the results of the search, the investigative team confiscated documents and motorized vehicles in the form of cars from the homes of two suspects which were allegedly related to the criminal act of corruption in land acquisition activities," said Sundari emphasizing.

Separately, the Head of the Makassar City Government Land Office, Sri Sulsilawati, confirmed that the search was carried out in the Office of Land and Legal Section of the City Hall Office. This is related to the alleged corruption case of land acquisition for the waste management industry run by former Assistant I Makassar City Government M Sabri alias SB

"Regarding the issue of the land acquisition project at the Tamalanrea TPA from 2012 to 2014. It has been a long process at the investigator stage, but it is not complete. Previously, it was conveyed that the submission was for information, I thought I was called to take information, it turned out that I was still taking the archives. complete evidence," he told reporters.
