SUKABUMI - The Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Sukabumi Police Satreskrim arrested two shamans from two different cases who were suspected of having abused a young woman who was being treated to the suspect.

"Suspect R, a resident of Jambenenggang Village, Kebonpedes District and suspect D, a resident of Pondokbitung Village, Kertaraharja Village, Cikembar District, Sukabumi Regency, we arrested him in their respective homes," said Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Maruly Pardede, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 6. According to Maruly, neither suspect R nor D had any connection, it's just that the modus operandi I carried out was similar. Where suspect R sexually harassed his victim YN, 33 years old woman, on Sunday, December 3 at one of the houses in Nyalindung District, Sukabumi Regency. The victim initially asked for help from the suspect to cure his illness and finally R agreed on the condition that he perform a shower of fireworks on Sunday morning. At that time, the suspect then took action, when the victim performed a ritual bathing and fireworks. With the mode to include spirits, the suspect had sex with the victim. However, YN realized and complained about what he had experienced to his family who then reported the suspect to the police. Receiving the report, the Sukabumi Police Satreskrim PPA Unit immediately arrested R at his house and led him to the Sukabumi Police Headquarters for questioning. As a result of his actions, this obscene shaman was charged with Article 289 of the Criminal Code with the threat of imprisonment for a maximum of seven to nine years. Meanwhile, another similar case began with a girl with the initials Rr (26) visiting suspect D (74) who works as a shaman in Kampung Pondokbitung, Kertaraharja Village, Cikembar District to consult on Sunday (3/12). At that time, the victim, who was in need of Rp. 5 million for his mother's treatment, asked the suspect for help to get an invitation to make it easier to get sustenance. After that D then asked Rr to perform a special ritual by bathing in the middle of the night at the suspect's house. To launch the action, D asked the victim to change clothes and pray to read the mantra while Watering flowers on the victim's body. While pouring water, the suspect also felt the body of the young woman who was his patient. After performing the ritual, the victim went home but felt odd about what the suspect had done and finally reported the case he had just experienced to the Sukabumi Police Satreskrim PPA Unit. Meanwhile, Sukabumi Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Ali Jupri said that his party was still asking for information from suspect D, because he had been working for a long time. as a shaman.

"More or less the suspect practiced bullying for one year. As long as there were other victims, we were still investigating," he added. This elderly man was also charged with Article 289 of the Criminal Code concerning Obscenity with the threat of imprisonment for a maximum of nine years.
