President Jokowi Greets Residents At Kupang City Shopping Center

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo visited a shopping center in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara, to greet the residents of the city. "Pak Jokowi, Pak Jokowi," shouted Anita, a resident of Kupang City when she saw President Jokowi visiting Lippo Plaza Kupang, Tuesday, December 5. On that occasion, Jokowi, who was wearing a golden yellow shirt, arrived at Lippo Plaza Kupang at around 20.00 WITA accompanied by PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono and was closely escorted by a number of Paspampres personnel. After greeting the residents and shaking hands and taking pictures together, President Jokowi together with the Minister of PUPR, Acting Governor of NTT Ayodhia GL Kalake and several other officials had dinner at a restaurant in the shopping center. After about half an hour of dinner, President Jokowi then returned to greet a number of residents who had been waiting to take pictures together. President Jokowi left the shopping center at 20.45 WITA local time. However, when he was about to leave, the Head of State was immediately surrounded by visitors shopping at the shopping center. President Jokowi also had time to distribute t-shirts to visitors to shopping centers. "Finally, I was able to see Mr. Jokowi firsthand. I'm very happy even though I didn't have time to take a photo together," said Erni, another Kupang resident. Previously, President Jokowi arrived at Kupang's El Tari Airport at 18.30 WITA after a working visit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, and Nagekeo Regency. A number of activities were carried out starting from distributing foodstuffs to residents, playing football, planting trees, and inspecting the dam in Mbay, Nagekeo. In Kupang City, Jokowi is scheduled to start his working visit on Wednesday (6/12) in a number of locations, including visiting Pasar Oebobo, SMK Negeri Kupang, planting corn, inaugurating RSUP Mben Boi, and also visiting Bulog's warehouse.

President Jokowi is also scheduled to review the construction of SPAM Kali Dendeng and inaugurate the Cathedral Church of Christ, the King of Kupang City.
