JAKARTA - Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas warned his subordinates not to apply corruption by abusing the budget within the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag).
"I don't want any news of misuse of the budget at the Ministry of Religion. We are the only ministry that bears the name of religion. It is a heavy burden, not only being able to carry out it properly and accountably, but also being held accountable for religious values," he said in a written statement from the Ministry of Religion, Tuesday.
At the 2024 Ministry of Religion's Budget Implementation List (DIPA), he emphasized that the use of the budget must be carried out in a disciplined, transparent and accountable manner so that there is no gap for fraud and corruption.
"I ask to focus on priority programs and legacy. Don't make too many revisions, because the more revisions it means the worse the planning. So it looks unprepared," he said.
He also said that the use of the budget for the implementation of programs and activities must have been carried out since January 2024 so as not to accumulate at the end of the year.
"Make sure it can be implemented properly, there is no stalled project. I hope it will be completed in the third quarter," he said.
