Riau Police Arrest 2 Robbers Of IDR 742 Million Who Shot Victim's Face

The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Riau Police arrested two armed robbers who stole Rp742 million in cash in Petapahan Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency.

Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Kombes Hery Murwono, explained that the perpetrators of FM alias Faksi (39) and WO alias Dodo (41) were arrested at different locations at different times and places.

FM was arrested in Batam on Monday (26/11), while WO alias Dodo was arrested in Bagan Sinembah, Rokan Hilir, Wednesday (29/11).

The robbery on Monday (13/11) occurred when the victim named Hartono, who is a palm oil company worker, withdrew money from a bank in Bangkinang, Kampar in the amount of Rp. 742 million.

After leaving there, the perpetrator who had been stalking the victim immediately stopped the victim's motorbike and fired a shot right in the victim's face.

"The bullet hit the face, precisely next to the victim's nose. The bullet lodged into the victim's throat and is still being treated intensively," said Kombes Hery, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 30.

Dircrimum Polda Riau Kombes Asep Darmawan said the perpetrators of FM and WO were garden workers from the victim's palm oil company. WO is usually always involved as a guard for the company's financial department to take cash to the bank and be delivered to the company's platform.

"It turns out that WO already knows. So he planned and invited FM to carry out a robbery. Meanwhile, this FM was only released from prison for the same case last March," added Kombes Asep.

The firearm owned by FM belongs to his brother who is currently in the search for the police. Meanwhile, the two perpetrators who have been arrested are subject to Article 365 of the Criminal Code and Article 1 Paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law No.12/1951 concerning possession of firearms.
