Anies Wants To Change Regulations To Make Banking Easy For Informal Workers

Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Rasyid Baswedan admitted that he wanted to change regulations regarding the requirements for home ownership credit (KPR) if he was elected President.

If they win the 2024 presidential election, Anies promises to make regulations so that banks as distributors of credit facilities can facilitate public requirements to pay their homes in installments.

"Actually, just regulations. The regulations have been changed, all banks follow the regulatory scheme. Well, the regulation must be able to solve the needs of housing and financing problems," said Anies in North Jakarta, Thursday, November 30.

Anies assessed that the mortgage financing scheme has been complicated, especially for people who work in the non-formal sector. The former governor of DKI Jakarta emphasized that there is no need to assume that non-formal workers are difficult to earn.

"Currently, the financing scheme for home loans is complicated, and it is in favor of those in the formal sector, those who work independently, those who work in the informal sector, always have difficulty accessing," said Anies.

"That's why we want to review, change the provisions in the majority so that the majority of Indonesians who work in the informal sector, work independently, can also access mortgages," he continued.

Anies claims that 85 percent of people build houses without contractors. In fact, according to him, the government has opened up greater opportunities for people to access mortgages.

"So, the presence of the country makes regulations according to need. Open according to the convenience of the country, which is good for the country, which is easy for countries, here. Oh, which is easy for the formal sector, which is easy to use for contractors. In fact, the majority do not use contractors. So when can he get access to loans?" said Anies.
