KPU Ensures No Foreigners On Voter List For 2024 Election

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) has confirmed that there are no foreign nationals (WNA) on the final voter list (DPT) for the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

"Regarding whether there is potential for other citizens to be included in the DPT, we have confirmed it from the start. We ask that everyone, especially political parties and voters, please pay attention to it via cekdptonline.kpu.go.id," said Chairman of the KPU Hasyim Asy'ari, Monday, November 27.

Hasyim explained that anyone can access the DPT page by entering their NIK to see the name on the voter list and the location of the polling place (TPS), including voters who are abroad.

"Even though he has an Indonesian passport, when he appears (voting) we will also ask the voters present to show whether they have residency cards as citizens of another country or not," said Hasyim.

According to him, the principles of honesty and openness from voters are very important in this context.

The KPU determined the names of 204,807,222 voters in the DPT, both domestic and foreign, who will exercise their voting rights on February 14.

KPU member Betty Epsilon Idroos detailed that the number of DPTs consisted of 102,218,503 men and 102,588,719 women.

"That is the national recapitulation of the DPT for the 2024 Election by the KPU," said Betty at the Open Plenary Meeting of the National Level DPT Recapitulation.
