Had A Chance To Allude To One Man Show At The KPK, Nawawi Pomolango: We're Trying Kolegial Collective Now

JAKARTA - The interim chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nawawi Pomolango said he would improve the collegial collective system among four leaders.

This was conveyed by Nawawi after being inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) replacing Firli Bahuri who was temporarily dismissed from the position of Chairman of the KPK because he was a suspect at Polda Metro Jaya.

"We are trying to make a collegial collective now," Nawawi told reporters at the KPK's Red and White Geedung, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, November 27.

Meanwhile, when asked about his previous statement, there was a leader who wanted a one man show, Nawawi did not want to talk further. He said, there is no point in bringing this up.

"Then let it pass," he said.

Nawawi once mentioned that there was a KPK leader who was one man show. This statement was made after Firli Bahuri visited Lukas Enembe, who was still the Governor of Papua and was caught in a corruption case at the KPK.

From that meeting, Lukas then asked for Firli's promise. It was not explained what was in it, but Lukas' lawyer, Petrus Bala Pattyona, asked the retired Bhayangkara Corps to occupy his statement.

Receiving the request, Nawawi, who is still the Deputy Chair of the KPK, quipped about his colleague's impression of a one man show. Because, he did not know what Firli had promised the suspect.

"This should be a warning for us to avoid work styles that tend to one man show," said Nawawi at the time.

Instead of defending Firli, Nawawi asked the investigative team not to relax their efforts to investigate allegations of corruption in Papua. "There is no need to be influenced by such things," he concluded.
