Today, Jokowi Inaugurates The Position Of Chairperson Of The KPK While Nawawi

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Monday 27 November is scheduled to witness the oath of office of Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) while Nawawi Pomolango will be held at the State Palace, Jakarta. Nawawi was appointed chairman of the KPK while after Firli Bahuri was named a suspect in the alleged extortion case against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL). Currently, SYL has also been detained at the KPK detention center. "It is planned that there will be an agenda for swearing or promises of Mr. Nawawi Pomolango as Chairman of the KPK temporarily before President Joko Widodo," said Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 27.

President Jokowi is known to have signed Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 116 dated November 24, 2023 regarding the dismissal of Firli Bahuri and at the same time appointed Nawawi Pomolango as Chairman of the KPK while upon arrival in Jakarta after making a working visit from West Kalimantan. The next agenda of Jokowi is to inaugurate the governor of Riau Province. Based on information, Jokowi plans to inaugurate Plt. Riau Governor Edy Natar Nasution as the definitive Riau governor.
