Polda Metro Ensures Transparency In Handling The Aiman Witjaksono Case

Polda Metro Jaya stated that it would be professional in handling cases of alleged spreading of fake news with the reported spokesman for the National Winning Team (TPN) for presidential and vice presidential candidates Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, Aiman Witjaksono.

In that case, Aiman Witjaksono, conveyed a statement stating that there were members of the National Police who were not neutral in the 2024 General Election.

"The National Police must be professional, transparent and accountable in carrying out a series of active investigations and investigations carried out," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, quoted Monday, November 20.

According to him, the investigation process currently carried out is in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP). All rules are followed by investigators to determine whether or not there is a crime in the report.

"So follow me with the ongoing legal process," he said.

On the other hand, Ade said the police were guilty if the report was not followed up. This is because the task of Koprs Bhayangkara is to handle all public reports.

In this case, it was recorded that 6 police reports (LP) were reported. All of them have allegations of spreading false news.

"Indeed, if there are reports from the public and the Police do not follow up, then that is just wrong," said Ade.

Previously, the Head of the National Police's Office, Komjen Fadil Imran, asked Aiman Witjaksono to open a police identity which he said was not neutral in the 2024 General Election. Thus, the police officers can be processed according to the rules and victory is proven.

"Is it true that there are commanders who order their subordinates to side with certain candidates? Or certain parties? Or certain presidential candidates?" he said.

"Is it really like that? Who? He said a lot, later we will clarify. So don't be afraid, Aiman just comes, who is it? Open (the identity of the police), don't just dare to talk but don't dare take responsibility," continued Fadil.

The three-star general also asked Aiman not to build a narrative that could disturb the public.

"Because don't build a narrative which then results in the disruption of the public's awareness," said Fadil.

In the report, Aiman is suspected of violating Article 28 (2) in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2008 concerning ITE and or Article 14 and or Article 15 of Law No. 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations.
