After The OTT Of The Prosecutor's Office, The Attorney General's Office Starts Conducting Internal Cleaning

The Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, emphasized that the Indonesian Attorney General's Office will take firm action against prosecutors involved in criminal acts, abuse of authority, in order to clean up the internal prosecutor's office.

"From the start, the Attorney General conveyed that anyone from the Prosecutor's Office who abuses their authority, commits disgraceful actions, let alone injures the sense of justice in the community, we will take firm action if necessary, we will brush it off, in order to clean internally the Prosecutor's Office," said Ketut, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 17.

In this internal cleaning of the Prosecutor's Office, said Ketut, his party opened the widest possible space to external parties to report any person from the Prosecutor's Office who committed a violation.

"We express our deep appreciation and support all forms of law enforcement, especially those related to individuals from the Prosecutor's Office," said Ketut.

The former deputy head of the Bali High Prosecutor's Office said that if an external party was involved in the prosecutor's clean-up efforts, his party would be grateful and hoped for this.

"Including media friends and the public, if anyone finds a disgraceful act, abuse of authority that injures people's sense of justice, please report it immediately," he said.

Ketut emphasized that the Attorney General does not need immoral prosecutors in carrying out their duties as Adhyaksa personnel.

"What we need is a smart prosecutor with integrity," he said.

In the future, he continued, creating prosecutors with integrity and intelligence will become natural law. Selection is done so that the best prosecutors can get in the future. Prosecutors who have integrity, and high dedication.

"We are grateful if any of our friends find things that are not good in law enforcement, we really appreciate it," said Ketut.

Ketut added that currently the Attorney General's Office continues to focus on uncovering cases of crime with the white collar 'big fish' or large cases with state losses reaching trillions, such as BTS Kominfo corruption with state losses of Rp8.32 trillion.

"Hopefully in the future the Prosecutor's Office will get clean people as expected by the leadership of the Prosecutor's Office," said Ketut.

Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested six people during a hand arrest operation (OTT) in Bondowoso Regency, East Java, last Wednesday.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said the parties were arrested in connection with allegations of corruption in case management being handled by the Bondowoso District Attorney (Kejari).

Meanwhile, based on the monitoring of ANTARA reporters in Bondowoso, the KPK investigating team brought two officers from the Bondowoso District Attorney's Office (Kejari) and an employee of the Bondowoso Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) after all three underwent an examination for about nine hours at the Bondowoso Police Headquarters, East Java.

The parties were then taken to Jakarta, Thursday morning, at 00.03 WIB, by police bus.

The KPK investigating team also brought four suitcases suspected of containing documents and evidence from the OTT on Wednesday afternoon, at around 11.30 WIB.

The parties who were caught red-handed underwent examination since Wednesday, at 15.00 WIB. KPK investigators conducted examinations in three different rooms at the Bondowoso Police Headquarters.
