Emirates To Launch Suitcases To Card Places From Aircraft Interior Recycle

JAKARTA - Emirates airlines will release a series of suitcases to limited edition accessories made of recycled aircraft interiors

The collection includes suitcases, backpacks, handbags, card places, toiletries, belts, and shoes, designed and made by Emirates tailors at the cabin workshop at the Emirates Engineering Center in Dubai.

Each section will be made with your hands according to orders. Customers will be able to request the disbursement of personalized lasers in several bags, suitcases, or unique document sites.

The goods will be sold starting next year at the Emirates Official Store. All the proceeds will be donated to underprivileged children through the Emirates Airline Foundation, citing The National News November 9.

Interested customers can register on the Emirates Store website. The choice of bags and accessories will also be displayed at Dubai Airshow at Dubai World Central from Monday to next Friday.

The plan is for the materials to be used to make the collection to be taken from Emirates' A380 and 777 fleets.

The aluminum head back, the skin from the sofa in the waiting room of the A380 aircraft, to the fur from the captain's seat have been used in this collection.

Last August, Emirates carried out a fleet retrofit project to update its 120 Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 interior cabins. After 67 A380 units resume operations, 53 units of 777 will be re-installed. The entire project is expected to take a minimum of two years.

Of the 16 aircraft repaired, more than 14,000 kilograms of material has been collected so far. Emirates said it could continue to collect up to 270kg of skin and 627kg of seat cloth per plane.

"We know these materials can be reused, because the materials were originally of very high quality," said Ahmed Safa, senior vice president of the engineering division of Emirates.

"We challenge our team to become creative and innovative, and this is us, with our own accessories workshop at the Emirates Engineering Center," he continued.

"This initiative is a very interesting project for our team, and we are very proud of the alignment of this initiative with the aim of our innovation and sustainability, even better, all the results obtained will be donated for useful purposes," he said.
