Head Of PPP: God Willing, We Are Optimistic With The Target For 11 Million Votes

Acting Chairman of the PPP DPP Muhamad Mardiono is optimistic that the target of winning 2,000 seats nationally is not a dream, because his party once reached the number.

"God willing, we will still place the target of getting 11 million votes, then 50 seats for the DPR RI, and then nationally we are targeting 2,000 seats," said Mardiono while attending a briefing event for PPP legislative candidates throughout Indonesia in North Jakarta, Saturday.

He said that PPP will fight with other coalition parties in winning the presidential-candidate candidate for vice president Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md, as well as winning PPP in the 2024 legislative election (Pileg).

"So this (the target of the legislative seat) is actually not difficult because this is actually just returning the votes we got in the past. This means that this is not a dream because we have indeed (rehearsal)," he said.

Furthermore, Mardiono, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, November 11, said that after PPP stated support for Ganjar-Mahfud, community leaders such as ulama, kyai, and academics gave positive responses.

"So I believe that according to what was conveyed by my colleagues in the field, they have also received a very positive response. So I believe this will be able to increase the vote acquisition in East Java for the United Development Party," he said.

He believes that the PPP vote in the East Java region will increase, especially for the acquisition of votes in Madura.

"I am sure that Mr. Mahfud Md can gain votes, contribute votes to PPP as his supporting party significantly for the acquisition (of votes) in East Java," said Mardiono.
