KPK Confiscates IDR 3 Billion From DPR Member F-Gerindra Sudewo

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated around Rp. 3 billion from a member of the DPR, Sudewo, in connection with the handling of the alleged bribery case for the procurement of goods and services project at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation.

This was revealed in the trial of the alleged bribery case of the DJKA project with the accused Head of the Central Java Railway Engineering Center (BTP) Putu Sumarjaya and the Central Java BTP commitment maker Bernard Hasibuan at the Semarang Corruption Court, who examined Sudewo as witnesses.

The public prosecutor showed evidence of photos of cash in rupiah denominations and foreign currencies confiscated from Sudewo's house.

Politician Gerindra said the money confiscated by the KPK was the salary he earned as a member of the DPR and the money from the business.

"The salary money from the DPR is given in cash," he said in a trial chaired by Chief Judge Gatot Sarwadi as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 9.

In his testimony, the witness denied receiving money for the railway line construction project between Solo Balapan-Kalioso Station which was carried out by PT Istana Putra Agung.

He denied the prosecutor's indictment in the case which stated that he had received Rp720 million which was handed over by an employee of PT Istana Putra Agung.

Including, Sudewo denied the response of the defendant Bernard Hasibuan who had given Rp500 million through his staff named Nur Widayat in Solo.

"I have never received a report from my staff, or from Bernard's brother, or Dion's brother," said the member of Commission V of the DPR.

According to him, his introduction to Bernard and Dion occurred when the JGSS 4 project had begun.

Head of the Central Java Railway Engineering Center (BTP) Putu Sumarjaya was tried for receiving fees from the implementing contractor of three projects in Central Java.

Putu together with Central Java BTP commitment maker Bernard Hasibuan, who was also tried in the same case, engineered the Director of PT Istana Putra Agung Dion Renato Sugiarto as the winner of the three railway projects.

The three projects are each Solo Balapan-Kadipiro-Kalioso KM 96+400 to KM 104+900 (JGSS 6), construction of the KAelevatedSolo Balapan-Kadipiro KM 104+900 s.d. KM 106+900 (JGSS 4), and Track Layout Tegal Station.

The total fee received directly by the defendants Putu Sumarjaya and Bernard Hasibuan from these projects reached Rp7.4 billion.
