Deputy DMI Syafruddin Protests His Name Is Registered At Din Syamsuddin's Meeting With NasDem

JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the DPP of the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) Komjen (ret) Syafruddin Kambomemprotes former General Chairperson of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board (PP) Din Syamsuddin, because his name was registered in the group during a visit to the Nasdem Party elite in Tower Nasdem, Jakarta, Monday (6/11).

"Yesterday I told Mr. Din, I was not involved in practical politics, the Mosque Council should not be brought into politics, but my name is still included in the group list," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 7.

He also regretted that Din still included his name in the list of groups who attended the visit with political nuances. Because, he said, the visit was a form of open support for the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar couple.

The chairman of the Asfa Foundation emphasized that he was not present at the meeting, including at meetings with other political nuances. He urged Din Syamsuddin to immediately correct the matter.

"Once again I ask Mr. Din to immediately correct all media containing reports about my presence at yesterday's meeting. Once again I emphasize, the mosque council should not be involved in politics, I also refuse to be involved in practical politics," he asserted.

Previously, former Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Din Syamsuddin held a closed meeting with Nasdem Party Chairman Surya Paloh at Nasdem Tower on Monday (6/11).

Din arrived at Nasdem Tower with the leaders of Islamic community organizations (ormas). Din was welcomed by the Secretary General of the Nasdem Party, Hermawi Taslim, Chairman of the Nasdem Party DPP, Effendi Choiri and other ranks.

In the list of groups received by journalists, it was written that Din Syamsuddin invited 15 figures, and Komjen (ret) Syafruddin was included in the list. Even though at the location, Komjen (ret) Syafruddin was not seen present.
