2 LPG Specialist Thieves In Mamuju, West Sumatra Arrested, One Of Them Is 16 Years Old

Police arrested two perpetrators of theft, a specialist in LPG gas cylinders, who acted in a number of shops in Mamuju Regency, West Sumatra.

The police arrested two perpetrators of theft of LPG gas cylinder specialists who acted in a number of shops in Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi Province (West Sulawesi).

Head of the Public Relations Section of the Mamuju Police, Ipda Herman Basir, Thursday, said that his party also secured evidence.

"Two perpetrators were arrested, one of whom was a minor, namely 16 years old and the other perpetrator with the initials H (18). Both were arrested on Jalan Abdul Wahab Asasi, Binanga Village, Mamuju Regency," said Herman in Mamuju, West Sumatra, Thursday 2 November, confiscated by Antara.

Meanwhile, the evidence that was confiscated in the disclosure, namely 12 gas cylinders measuring three kilograms, one hammer and one motorbike.

The disclosure of the theft case of the LPG gas cylinder specialist, said Herman Basir, began with the action carried out by the two perpetrators at a grocery store in Mamuju which was caught on CCTV.

The theft, said the Head of Public Relations, had gone viral through social media, then the police immediately conducted an investigation and succeeded in arresting the two perpetrators.

"Both of them testify every day in a number of grocery stores in Mamuju Regency. The perpetrators carried out the action by prying out the shop using a hammer," he said.

The stolen LPG gas cylinder, continued the Head of Public Relations, was then sold to a number of kiosks at a price of Rp. 100,000 to Rp. 130 thousand per tube.

"From the results of the examination, the two perpetrators admitted that the stolen LPG gas cylinders were sold to several kiosks and then the money was used for daily needs," explained Herman Basir.

Both, said the Head of Public Relations, are still being investigated intensively at the Mamuju Police Headquarters for the development of investigations and are threatened with being charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft.
