Police Arrest 2 Drug Trafficking Recidivists, Secure 512.88 Grams Of Methamphetamine

JEPARA - Jepara Resort Police (Polres) arrested two perpetrators of drug trafficking cases. The evidence that was secured was 512.88 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

"The two people who were strongly suspected of being involved in the distribution of methamphetamine were arrested on October 21, 2023 with the initials AHB (49) AND MAA (45)," said Jepara Police Chief AKBP Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan during a press conference at the Jepara Police Headquarters, Thursday, October 26, which was confiscated by Antara.

He revealed that the two perpetrators were arrested in Kuwasen Village, Jepara City District.

When arresting the two perpetrators, the police found five packages of methamphetamine weighing an average of more than 100 grams with a total of 511.28 grams and a small package of methamphetamine weighing 1.60 grams, bringing the total evidence to 512.88 grams.

The perpetrator with the initials AHB who is a shabu-shabu courier is a resident of Sidoarjo, while MAA is a resident of Pasuruan, East Java.

AHB is a recidivist of a similar case who has languished in Nusakambangan for seven years. Meanwhile, MAA has languished in Nusakambangan for 8.5 years.

"The two perpetrators admitted that they got the illicit goods from someone with the initials PC in the Jakarta area. Meanwhile, the illicit goods were intended to be distributed to Jepara with a transaction value of around Rp. 350 million," he said.

For their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) subsidiary Article 112 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of death penalty, life imprisonment or imprisonment for a minimum of six years and a maximum of 20 twenty years.
