Denying Pramono Anung Resigning From The Cabinet Service, Puan: Unless The President Can't Believe It Anymore

JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Puan Maharani denied the news that her senior politician, Pramono Anung, had resigned from the position of Cabinet Secretary.

This was conveyed by Puan in response to Pramono's presence at the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN) meeting at the High End Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 25. This senior politician emerged amid the heated relationship between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and PDIP which led to the withdrawal of ministers.

"It's not resigning. The minister is the one who helps the president. So the one who has the prerogative to appoint or dismiss the ministers is the president," Puan told reporters quoted on Thursday, October 26.

Puan considered it inappropriate for Pramono and other ministers to be rumored to be resigning. "It has nothing to do with it, Mas Pram doesn't have anything wrong. Other ministers also don't hurt it," he said.

"Unless the president doesn't trust Mas Pramono anymore, then the president will convey this to Mas Pram," continued the chairman of the DPR RI.

According to Puan, the issue that arose about the resignation of a number of ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet was also baseless. "So why suddenly it has to be like that," he said.

Previously reported, PDIP is rumored to be withdrawing its ministers in the cabinet of President Jokowi's government. The reason is that Megawati Soekarnoputri's party was disappointed that Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is the son of the former governor of DKI Jakarta, was running as a candidate for vice president (cawapres) to accompany Prabowo Subianto.

In fact, Gibran is a PDIP cadre and is now the mayor of Solo. The party bearing the bull symbol in the 2024 presidential election supports Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD with the United Development Party (PPP), Hanura Party, and Perindo Party.
