Continuing To Increase, 1,661 Children In Gaza Died As A Result Of The Israeli Onslaught

JAKARTA - At least 1,661 children have died as a result of an Israeli attack on Gaza City since October 7, said Protection for International-Palestinian Children (DCIP) on Saturday local time.

In the same period, 27 children died at the hands of Israeli troops in the West Bank, so they were combined with Gaza about 120 children were killed daily as a result of Israel's actions, the Palestinian agency said as reported by the Wafa news agency.

DCIP revealed the death toll in Gaza continues to grow considering there are still around 1,400 people missing under the rubble of buildings destroyed by Israeli attacks.

That means, the actual death toll is much higher.

DCIP explained Palestinian children who survived Israel's relentless onslaught in Gaza experienced an acute humanitarian crisis, exacerbating psychological and emotional trauma since the last 16 years due to blockades and Israeli military attacks.

Gaza's children's trauma is more than just suffering, DCIP said.

"The deaths of other children further add to their suffering, leaving scars on their mental health. In addition, the killing of the entire family in a short time (also) destroyed the foundations of the household," DCIP said.

"Children who once felt safe and comfortable in their family arms, are now suddenly orphans," concluded DCIP.
