DPRD Says Formula E 2024 In Jakarta Is Not Necessarily Canceled Because Of The Election: Still Communicating To FEO

JAKARTA - Member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, M. Taufik Zoelkifli, emphasized that the Formula E event in Jakarta in 2024 will not necessarily be canceled. This is in response to the decision of the FIA Formula E which crossed out the calendar for the implementation of Formula E in Jakarta in the 2024 race series due to the coincidence of the 2024 General Election. Taufik admitted that he had asked the BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo about this condition. As a result, Jakpro is still communicating with Formula E Operation as the license holder of Formula E. "I asked Jakpro as the manager of Formula E, not to be crossed out, but he is still communicating regarding the exact date because it coincides with the election year. But they (FEO) don't understand. So, Jakpro is communicating," said Taufik when contacted, Friday, October 20. According to Taufik, Jakpro will lobby FEO so that Jakarta can still hold electric car races in its third year even though it coincides with the election year. Formula E this season will be held at the Shanghai International Circuit, Shanghai, China for the first time by holding two series of races which will take place on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26, 2024.
