PASAMAN BARAT - The joint team is still trying to clean up landslide material in the Talamau landslide route, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra because until Thursday night (19/10) four-wheeled vehicles could not be passed.

"Two-wheeled vehicles can already go through landslides. As for four-wheelers, it cannot be done because the pile of materials is still high," said Talamau sub-district head Andre Affandi at Simpang Empat, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 19.

The joint team used a heavy backhoe loader since 12.00 WIB and continued to try to clean up the landslide material on the provincial road.

"West Pasaman Police Chief AKBP Agung Basuki directly leads the cleaning of materials that are four meters high and estimated to be 100 cubic meters of soil and stone material," he said.

As a result of the landslide on Thursday morning, the traffic flow that crossed the direction of the Pasaman-Talu-Simpang Empat Kebupaten Institution was completely cut off.

"There is a queue of vehicles in the two directions at this time because they cannot pass through landslides because the landslide material covers the road and is quite high," said Andre Affandi.

In addition, he said, landslide material in the form of trees hit the power cable which resulted in a power outage towards Talu, Talamau District.
