The 2025 U-20 Asian Cup TC Will Be Followed By 4 Senior Indonesian National Team Players

The U-20 Indonesian national team underwent a training camp for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The training camp (TC) of the U-20 Indonesian national team ahead of appearing in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup has been going on since Sunday, January 5, 2025. In the agenda, there are four names of players from the senior level who apparently joined.

This TC will last until January 30, 2025, before the players will compete in China from February 12 to March 1, 2025.

Indra Sjafri as the Indonesian U-20 coach has called 34 names to undergo TC in Jakarta. Of the total names, four of them are young players who have actually appeared at the senior level.

They are Arkhan Kaka, Dony Tri Pamungkas, Kadek Arel, and Sulthan Zaky. Even though they are still in their teens, the four of them already have experience performing at the senior level because they were called by Shin Tae-yong in the 2024 AFF Cup squad.

Except for Sulthan, three other young players had the opportunity to play. Kadek Arel even scored and Dony Tri Pamungkas displayed a slick performance as a center back.

Before joining the 2024 AFF Cup squad, the four of them also entered the U-20 Indonesian national team in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification event.

Now Kaka, Dony, Arel, and Sultan will return to their level of origin, namely the U-20 National Team, after tasting the experience of appearing at the senior level.

The experience of competing at the senior level will be a positive experience for these players. In addition, Dony and Sulthan have had experience competing in the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup.

Even though they have competed at a higher age level, the four players will still be selected. Indra will later reduce the number of players before leaving for China in early February 2025.

In the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup, Indonesia U-20 will be in Group C with Uzbekistan, Iran, and Yemen.
