JAKARTA - This woman was sentenced to life in prison by the judge, after having the heart to kill her husband coldly in front of his baby with his mistress while on a family vacation in his hometown.

Ramandeep Kaur Mann, 38, from Derby, England, was sentenced by a judge in India for killing her husband SukhENT Singh when they visited India in 2016.

The court listened to how Sukhmen Singh, 34, was hit in the head with a hammer and his neck was slit while staying at his parents' house in Banda, southeast of Delhi.

Unfortunately, the murder took place in front of the couple's nine-year-old son, but then gave evidence that weighed on his mother to the police.

Mann, who was born in England, was convicted with his girlfriend, Gurpreet Singh, who was her husband's childhood friend. The couple were in a relationship when they went on vacation to Dubai, United Arab Emirates a year earlier, reported The National News October 19.

Prosecutor Shree Pal Verma told a court in Shahjahanpur that their son described "how his mother and Gurpreet killed his father while he slept in their home," according to The Times of India.

Mann makes a dish called dahn, mixes sedatives into it, and then serves it as part of a family dinner.

"When they fell asleep, he allowed Gurpreet Singh into the house," the court said.

However, Mann did not realize that his then nine-year-old son did not eat dahl that night, thus witnessing how his mother killed his father with the help of his lover.

Prosecutor Verma said their son was "constructed due to noise in the room and saw his mother sitting on his father's body and smothering him (his father) with a pillow".

"Gurpreet hit his head twice with a hammer," said the prosecutor.

"Because Sukhmen Singh are still alive, Gurpreet took a knife out of his pocket. His mother took a knife from Gurpreet and slit her husband's throat," explained the prosecutor.

The report said Mann had informed police that her husband refused to divorce her.

Gurpreet Singh was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison with a fine of 10,000 rupees.

"I feel relieved. My prayer came true and I got what I expected from the court," Sukhloyon's mother commented on the judge's verdict.
