The North Kalimantan Provincial Government Will Hold A Cheap Market

TANJUNG SELOR As an effort to maintain regional inflation stability, the Provincial Government of North Kalimantan will hold a Cheap Market Movement in Agatis.

This was conveyed directly by the Governor of Kaltara, Drs H Zainal A Paliwang while attending the National Food Movement (GPM) in the Context of World Food Day with the Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian online, Monday, October 16.

"We are still being asked by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) not to be complacent with the decline in inflation. We continue to move to make various efforts by maintaining price stability. As well as preparing the availability of supply, distribution, and making effective communication," said the Governor of Kaltara.

The governor has followed the development of food, especially the prices of nine basic commodities that have experienced price increases since the first week of October.

From data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), until the second week of October, there was a trend of the highest IPH increase in 10 districts/cities and provinces including Gorontalo City 6.1 percent, North Sulawesi Bolaang Mongondow 5.32 percent, Bitung City 5.05 percent, Mamasa 4.54 percent. East Lombok 4.48 percent.

Some of the commodities that affect it are 338 districts/cities that have increased. Meanwhile, 283 districts/cities and 259 districts/cities of cayenne pepper.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, in his direction explained that inflation in September 2023 experienced a year on year (yoy) decline of 2.28 percent. Meanwhile, monthly inflation 0.19 percent and calendar year inflation are at 1.63 percent.

"I ask local governments to seriously maintain inflation and food stability," he said.

This cheap food movement was held by the National Food Agency (Bapanas) in collaboration with local governments and food entrepreneurs. The goal is to maintain the stability of the inflation rate and aim for the Strong Food of the Sovereign Indonesia.
