KPU Limits The Number Of Introductors Of Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates During Registration

The General Elections Commission (KPU) has confirmed to limit the number of supporters or sympathizers who will deliver pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates who will register with the KPU.

"What is clear is that the main management of political parties or coalitions of political parties and pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates or wives or families please (intermediate), but what is clear is that the number is not large because it relates to the availability of space in the KPU office and for the sake of the smooth registration process of the President and the Vice President," said the Head of the Technical Division of the Idham Holik KPU Implementation. reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 12.

He also asked that later the supporters and sympathizers of the Bakapres and Bacawapres pairs not to enter the KPU building.

"We plan to provide a limited seating, the same as the registration time for political parties participating in the election. If there are thousands of supporters, the KPU office is also limited," he continued.

The KPU also hopes that all political parties or coalitions of political parties will follow security arrangements so that the situation when registration runs smoothly.

"I believe we all have the same desire, namely to maintain the conduciveness of this registration situation because the registration process for presidential and vice presidential candidates will be witnessed by the Indonesian people as well as the international community," said Idham.

Idham said the KPU would cooperate with the Police to maintain order during the registration period from October 19 to October 25, 2023. He also asked political parties to maintain order during the registration process for presidential and vice-presidential candidates.

"I believe this is nothing new and I am sure that political parties or coalitions of political parties can understand this, the most important thing is that they provide a notification letter so that we also coordinate and political parties and coalitions of political parties are also obliged to give notifications to the state police of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.
