CIREBON - The 2024 presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo and Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, compactly attended the wedding of the nephew of the former PBNU General Chair, KH Said Aqil Siroj at the KHAS Kempek Cirebon Islamic Boarding School, Sunday, October 8. The two of them seem familiar and can often be seen chatting together seriously.

Ganjar and his wife who came to the location were immediately greeted by Kiai Said Aqil Siroj and his wife. Shortly thereafter, Mahfud MD came and joined the same table with Ganjar and Kiai Said.

The two were then invited to escort the bride and groom who was the child of KH Muhammad Musthafa Aqil Siroj, the younger brother of KH Aqil Siroj. Ganjar and Mahfud MD walked together and were seen chatting with their fun.

Even when sitting on the seats of invited guests, Ganjar and Mahfud MD seemed to be sitting side by side. Ganjar sat on the right while Mahfud MD was on the left accompanied by Kiai Said. Suddenly the scene became the talk of hundreds of guests who were present.

"Pak Ganjar and Pak Mahfud are compact. That's right, it fits," said several invited guests.

Meanwhile, Kiai Said Aqil Siroj, who represented the host, was very heart-bearing about the arrival of Ganjar and Mahfud MD. Because in the midst of their respective activities, the two of them still had time to come to fulfill the invitation to the wedding of the KHAS Kempek Cirebon family.

"Thank you Pak Ganjar Pranowo, the former Governor of Central Java who is now a candidate for Presidential Candidate 2024. Thank you Mr. Mahfud MD and all other guests of honor who have willing to fulfill our invitation," said Kiai Said representing the host.

On the other hand, Ganjar said he had a special relationship with the KHAS Kempek Islamic Boarding School family. Ganjar often visits and is considered like a brother.

"If you come here like family, so I'm happy to be able to see Kiai Mustofa Aqil's son who is entering a new life," said Ganjar.

Asked about his closeness to Mahfud MD, Ganjar said he was very close. Even when he met him sitting on the side.

"With Mr. Mahfud MD, he was close, just sitting next to him. He was my old friend, from Jogja together, in the DPR together and communication was very intense," he said.

Asked whether familiarity is a signal in order to determine the Vice Presidential Candidate, Ganjar responds casually. According to him, all still have the opportunity to be his companion.

"About that (Mahfud MD Cawapres) everything is possible. What is impossible. I am close to everyone. Yesterday with kyai Said very close, I prayed together. Anyway, everyone is close," he concluded.

Not only Ganjar and Mahfud MD, the wedding ceremony was attended by a number of other important guests. Among them were Minister of Religion Gus Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Minister of ATR/BPN Hadi Tjahjanto, former Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Maimoen and other important guests and scholars.
