President Zelensky: We Must Work Together To Encourage Russia To Get Out Of Other Countries

JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned European leaders on Thursday that Russia could rebuild its military capabilities and attack other countries within five years, if support for its country falters and leads to defeat.

He conveyed this when attending a summit of the European Political Community in Spain. In his emotional speech, President Zelensky described how Ukrainian children in Kharkiv's eastern city learned from distance, or attended classes at subway stations due to air strikes.

"Until there is a fully effective air defense system, children cannot attend school," he said at the meeting held in Granada City.

President Zelensky continued, by providing additional military equipment to Ukraine, European countries could help ensure "a drone, tank, or other Russian weapons will not attack anyone in Europe".

"We must not allow (Russian President Vladimir) Putin to shake up other parts of the world and our partners to destroy European powers," President Zelensky said.

"The presence of Russia, the military or its proxies in other countries is a threat to all of us. We must work together to push Russia out of the territory of other countries," he said.

It is known that the European Political Community was founded last year following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, to encourage cooperation between more than 40 countries from Norway to Moldova.

The meeting in Granada gave leaders such as French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak the opportunity to re-state their commitment to their support for Ukraine.
