JAYAPURA - A total of 79 teachers in Jayapura Regency, Papua Province, received a Decree (SK) on Appointment of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) on Monday, October 2. The acting Regent of Jayapura, Triwarno Purnomo, symbolically handed over the decree to the teacher representatives at the commemoration ceremony of Pancasila Sanctity Day which took place in Sentani. "I hope the 79 teachers who receive the decree are enthusiastic in carrying out their duties," he said as quoted by Antara. He also reminded teachers not to be lazy in carrying out teaching duties. "I hope (the teachers) can carry out their duties and serve well," he said. Meanwhile, Acting Head of Jayapura Regency Education Office Eqberth C Kopeuw said that a total of 95 teachers passed the 2022 PPPK recruitment selection in Jayapura Regency. "This is a formation of PPPK 2022 teachers and 95 people have passed and now the government has handed over (SK) to 79 people, the rest will follow," he said. "A total of 16 teachers are still carrying out the online administrative completeness process, and if it has been carried out, the decree is out," he added. Eqberth said that 79 people who had received the PPPK Appointment Decree consisted of elementary school and junior high school teachers.

He said that this year the local government is trying to recruit 358 PPPK teachers. "With the PPPK formation, the fate of contract teachers and honorariums will be helped," he said.
