Not Only Money, KPK Finds 12 Firearms When Searching The House Of The Minister Of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) found firearms (senpi) while searching the official residence of the Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo in Widya Chandra, South Jakarta. The search was carried out on 28-29 September 2023.

"That's right, there are (discoveries, red) senpi," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri at a press conference at the KPK's Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Friday, September 29.

Ali has not detailed the type of firearm. However, the investigative team found 12 pistols found.

Furthermore, the KPK will coordinate with Polda Metro Jaya. "Of course it is related to the findings in the search process in question," he said.

"Because once again what we will do next is an analysis which is directly related to the case we are handling," Ali continued.

Previously reported, during the search, investigators also found tens of billions of money consisting of foreign currency denominations and rupiah. This evidence will be analyzed for later confiscation if it relates to allegations of corruption that are being investigated.

The anti-corruption commission decided to investigate allegations of corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). The decision was taken after pocketing sufficient initial evidence.

The suspect in this case has not been detailed by the KPK, nor has the construction of the case. However, information circulated about the case related to the sale and purchase of positions within the Ministry of Agriculture.

During the investigation, Syahrul had also been summoned by the anti-corruption commission when this case was under investigation. At that time, information was related to the search for evidence and information.
