SAR Team Searches For 1 Passenger Of The Ship That Fell In East Luwu Lake

The joint SAR team is looking for a passenger on a boat that crashed from a boat in Lake Matano, Sorowako Village, Nuha District, East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi Province (Sulsel).

Head of Basarnas Kendari Aminuddin P. S said the information was first reported by local residents to the Kendari Basarnas Office, at around 12.45 WITA.

"We don't know the victim's data yet, we received information that one person had fallen from a boat on Matano Lake, East Luwu Regency," Aminuddin said when contacted in Kendari, Antara, Sunday, November 24.

Based on this information, his party then dispatched the East Luwu SAR Alert Unit Rescue Team to the reported location to provide SAR assistance.

"With the distance from the location from the East Luwu SAR Alert Unit, it is about 48 kilometers," he said.

When they arrived at the location, the team immediately conducted a search with cloudy weather conditions and wind speeds of about two kilometers per hour from the east. In the search operation, there were several elements involved, including the Kendari Basarnas Ops Staff, the East Luwu SAR Alert Unit Rescue Team, PT Vale FES, Mori Dive Club, Koramil Nuha, Nua Police, and the surrounding community.

"With the main tools, namely Rescue cars, rubber boats, catating, speedboats,raf ships, diving equipment, medical SAR equipment, SAR equipment to evacuate communication equipment, and other safety support equipment," said Aminuddin.

Aminuddin also added that the chronology of the incident began at 10.00 WITA, namely one passenger on a boat with the Sorowako-Nuha Port route fell. The operator of the boat has been trying to search for assistance from the community.

"However, the victim was not found," added Aminuddin.
