Mahfud Asks The Police To Be Solid And There Are No More Blocks

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD asked the National Police to remain solid. There should no longer be a camp in the Bhayangkara Corps. The statement was conveyed when giving a speech at the Coordination Meeting (Rakor) of Steam Operations Brata 2023-2024, in the context of securing the 2024 General Election, Wednesday, September 27. "The National Police must be solid, there are no more blocks, Patrons and so on," said Mahfud. That statement is also a reminder for the Police as well as repeating the message from President Joko Widodo which was conveyed during the 77th Anniversary of the Police, July 1.Korps Bhayangkara was also asked to continue to improve itself as one of the most highlighted institutions in the community. Although, currently the level of public trust in the performance of the Police reaches 70 percent. "The third message of the President, the Police must not abuse their authority," he said. "The law enforcement must be fair, not sharp downward but blunt upward. The Police must adapt to carry out innovations in various fields," continued Mahfud. Then, the Police were also asked to maintain neutrality ahead of the 2024 General Election. Because, it is undeniable that many retired Bhayangkara Corps players have plunged into politics, both as candidates and supporters of one of the candidates. "Keep the neutrality of the Police in securing elections in 2024," he stressed.

Finally, Mahfud asked the National Police to continue serving the country. Of course, with one goal, namely to build Indonesia for the better. "Be a true bhayangkara that serves the people of the nation and state relentlessly for the progress of Indonesia," said Mahfud.
