Police Chronology Hits Police In Manado, Ends In Reporting To Each Other

MANADO - The main official of the North Sulawesi Regional Police (Sulut), namely the Head of the Operations Bureau (Karo Ops) of the North Sulawesi Police, Kombes Wawan Wirawan, was reported on suspicion of persecution. The report on the alleged abuse allegedly carried out by Wawan Wirawan is registered in the report Number: LP/B/508/IX/2023/SPKT/POLDA NORTH SULAWESI on Saturday (23/9/2023).

The alleged abuse by Wawan was recorded in a CCTV video footage that went viral on social media. In the video, a man can be seen hitting someone and falling down.

The incident occurred at a child's toy shop in Manado City, on Thursday night. It was later discovered that the man was Kombes Wawan Wirawan who allegedly hit Aiptu Jufry

However, Kombes Wawan Wirawan denied the alleged abuse. Wawan claimed his actions were the actions of his superiors who punished his subordinates who violated it.

"No abuse exists, but the leader punishes his subordinates who commit violations," said Wirawan.

Wawan explained the chronology of the incident at that time. Wawan, who claimed to be in charge of the North Sulawesi Police Mobile Brigade who was going to Gorontalo, received a call from a police colleague in Jakarta.

His colleague asked Wawan for help because his family was in Manado who was disturbed by members of the Manado Police.

Wawan continued to be contacted by his friend because the one who was guarding the shop was scared by the police.

"I had time to contact Kasat Detective, but it was not his subordinate because this is an Intel member," he said.

At around 19.30 WITA, Wawan was contacted again by a friend from Jakarta. During the communication, Wawan's friend said that the items at the shop owned by his family would soon be taken to the Manado Police.

"There I asked Provost's picket to check with the crime scene and they went straight there," he explained.

Wawan Wirawan then tried to contact the shop owner via video call and asked to direct the Manado Police at the scene so he could speak. However, the shop owner's cell phone was suddenly seized by the police who were at the location.

"I have contacted two to three times but were not picked up. Finally, I and the Propam members went to the crime scene without wearing official clothes," he said.

When he arrived at the location, Wawan asked the senior on duty and asked the party who took the shop owner's cellphone. Then, Wawan pulled the Manado Police members into the back room and advised him.

"I don't have tonjok or I'm gampar," he explained.

Wawan Wirawan admitted that he had made a report back to Aiptu Jufry

"The trigger was for me to get emotional because when I video call the cellphone was confiscated by someone at the shop," he said.

Wawan was also surprised that the basic interests of the police officers questioned SNI in the toy shop.

"I have personally apologized to these individuals but in official terms this is a warning from the leadership for you," he said.
