World Ozone Day Lights Outage In Jakarta Saves Electricity Worth IDR 146 Million

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has turned off lights on a number of government buildings, lights on protocol roads, to the symbolic points of the City of Jakarta on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

The blackout last day was carried out for one hour, starting at 20.30 WIB to 21.30 WIB. Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, said that the blackout saved electricity consumption with a value of Rp. 146.9 million.

"The material savings for the realization of Earth Day 2023 on September 23, 2023 amounted to Rp. 146,971,919 or 102 MWh x Rp. 1,444.70 / KWh," Asep said in his statement, Sunday, September 24.

Then, there was a savings in electricity consumption of 102 MWh. This data is a difference in electricity load a week ago, which was September 16 at 20.30-21.30 WIB.

"There is also a decrease in CO2 carbon emissions by 86.47 tons," said Asep.

Furthermore, Asep explained that the blackout on September 23 was a commitment from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in increasing energy savings efforts and reducing carbon emissions in the Jakarta area.

The blackout of buildings belonging to the DKI Provincial Government was carried out in all offices of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government except for hospitals, health centers, clinics, and others.

The blackout on the City of Jakarta symbol at the City Hall Building, the National Monument Area, the Arjuna Wiwaha Statue Area, the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, the Youth Statue, the Hero Statue, and the Sudirman Statue.

Then, the blackout of protocol and arterial street lights in Central Jakarta was carried out on Jl. Sudirman (upper Hamlet - Sampoerna Strategis Building), Jalan MH. Thamrin, Seputar Jalan Medan Merdeka (Except North Medan Merdeka in front of the Presidential Palace, Jalan Gerbang Pemuda - Jalan Asia Afrika, Balaikota Office Courtyard, Central Jakarta Mayor's Office.

In North Jakarta, blackouts on Jalan Yos Sudarso, North Jakarta Mayor's Office Complex and Independence Pioneers. Next, East Jakarta on Jalan Dr. Sumarno, Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, and the East Jakarta Mayor's Office Complex.

In West Jakarta, the blackout was carried out on Jalan Daan Mogot and Jl. Kembangan Raya (in front of the West Jakarta Mayor's Office), and the West Jakarta Mayor's Office Complex.

South Jakarta is located on Jalan Prapanca Raya, Jalan Gerbang Pemuda - Jalan Asia Afrikas, Jalan Sudirman (Sampoerna Strategis Building - Youth Statue), and Jalan Rasuna Said.
