Gerindra Calls Joining Democrats Adds Prabowo's Chance To Win

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party has officially declared Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (candidate) to be promoted in the 2024 presidential election.

Deputy Chairperson of Gerindra Habiburokhman, said joining Democrats to the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) added to Prabowo's chance of winning to become the 8th president of the Republic of Indonesia. Because according to him, Democrats have major ammunition and important figures such as the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

"We know that the Democrat party is one of the big parties, has millions of members and there are important figures there is Pak SBY, there is Mas AHY, there is Mas Ibas, with their joining complementary, increasing the complete opportunity for Gerindra to win," said Habiburokhman at the DPR building, Friday, September 22.

Habiburrokhman ensured that there were no hostages regarding the determination of Prabowo's assistant vice presidential candidate. He considered that all parties that joined KIM had matured in politics so that decisions would be made in deliberation.

"I think we are getting more relaxed, friends must also have political maturity, there will be no forced-forcing term, hostages taking hostage, what is there is the term deliberation. Everything will be decided by deliberation," he said.

Instead, continued the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, the Forward Indonesia Coalition will be more relaxed by joining Democrats. Because all political parties supporting Prabowo have the same spirit in the upcoming presidential election contestation.

"So in the future we will continue to communicate with the general chairman of political parties to formulate vision and programs including with colleagues from the Democratic Party," said Habiburrokhman.
