Nagan Raya Regency Government Efforts To Expand Cut Nyak Dhien Airport

ACEH - The Nagan Raya Regency Government, Aceh Province, is trying to expand the runway and terminal of Cut Nyak Dhien Airport as an effort to increase investment and the economy in the regions. "There are about 45 hectares of land that we will free," said Head of the Nagan Raya Regency Transportation Service Efliyanto to ANTARA in Nagan Raya, Aceh, Tuesday, September 19. He said the total budget requirement for the expansion of the runway, terminal, and aircraft parking area is estimated at IDR 400 billion. With the expansion of the airport, he hopes that the airport can accommodate Boeing or Airbus aircraft, with more passenger capacity. Efliyanto also said that currently Cut Nyak Dhien Nagan Raya Airport has a runway of about 1,800 meters, so it can only accommodate ATR-72 600 aircraft with a passenger capacity of 72 people. So far, the airport is also accommodated by private jets or the Caravan type operated by private airlines with pioneering flights. He said the Cut Nyak Dhien Airport expansion program had been rolling since 2020 and the Acting Regent of Nagan Raya Fitriany Farhas is currently in constant communication with the Aceh Government and the Ministry of Transportation.

"This is expected that the Banda expansion program can be realized soon by the central government and the Aceh government," said Efliyanto.
