GE HealthCare Indonesia Collaborates With PERDATIN To Improve Patient Safety And Clinical Results

JAKARTA - The world's provider of health technology, GE HealthCare, is conducting strategic cooperation with PERDATIN (Intensive Aesthetic Specialist and Therapy Association) to improve the safety and clinical outcome of patients with international standard domestic patient monitors.

The implementation of this collaboration is in the form of Continuing Medical Education/CME (Resilient Medicine Education) to introduce and study the use of domestic parent monitors equipped with an Entropy module and an EK-Pro algorithm for Anestesi doctors throughout Indonesia. This collaboration is also in line with the 3rd pillar health transformation in the field of health technology and the 5th pillar in the field of human resources (HR).

The signing of this collaboration was carried out by the General Chairperson of the PERDATIN Central Executive Board (PP) for the period 2022-2025, Inspector General of Police Dr. Asep Hendradiana Sp.An, KIC., M.Kes and President Director of PT GE Operations Indonesia, Putty Kartika, witnessed by Plt. Director of Medical Device Production and Distribution of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Ir. Sodikin Sadek, M.Kes., Director of Quality Improvement of Health Workers of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Lupi Trilaksono, SF, MM, Apt., and President & CEO of GE HealthCare Australia, Korea, ASEAN Region, Chris Khang.

Sodikin Sadek, M.Kes. said, in an effort to resilience/resilience medical devices, the Ministry of Health is focused on accelerating the production of domestic medical devices (AKD). Through various supports and initiations from various parties, we hope that together we can provide the best health services for the people of Indonesia," he said.

Chairman of the PERDATIN Central Executive Board (PP) for the period 2022-2025, Inspector General of Police Dr. Asep Hendradiana Sp.An, KIC., M.Kes said, as the set that houses specialists in anesthesia and intensive therapy in Indonesia, PERDATIN is committed to increasing the standard of practice and safety of information technology-based patients.

"For this reason, we periodically hold carnivals, seminars, and workshops, as well as collaborate with various parties to improve the standards and competencies of the members in order to realize more professional health services. This time together with GE HealthCare, we collaborate to educate on the use of patient monitors that can help anesthesists take appropriate and safe measures for patients," he explained.

The anesthetic doctor takes an important role in patient safety through pre-anessia evaluation, close monitoring of anesthesia and vital signs during surgery, and post-operative monitoring.

To do this, anesthesiologists need sophisticated patient monitors with complete parameters to ensure patient recovery is smooth and pain can be controlled, thereby increasing the overall surgical experience and increasing the patient's clinical outcome.

GE HealhCare's domestic production monitor patent is equipped with an EK-Pro Entropy and Algorithm module, which serves to; Entropy measures brain activity which is the target organ for anesthetic drugs, which has been shown to reflect different levels of anesthetic. With Entropy monitoring, the patent monitors can ensure faster recovery in the operating room, and optimize the periodic process, as well as ensure efficient operating processes.

Meanwhile, the EK-Pro algorithm: uses four adaptations for the detection of arrhythmias (disorder at the heart rate), including atrium fibrillation (AFib) which is an irregular heart rhythm and is often very fast. This is very important to prevent the risk of 3 to 5 times greater ischemic stroke for patients with AFib.

The collaboration program of GE HealthCare and PERDATIN, Continuing Medical Education/CME (Resilient Medicine Education) is planned to be held in 5 cities by the end of 2023 which is attended by more than 500 anesthetists, general practitioners, and anesthetists throughout Indonesia.
