North Sumatra Police Reveals Drug Trafficker Network Controlled By Prisoners, Money To Confiscated Houses

The North Sumatra Regional Police through the Deli Serdang Police revealed a network of drug dealers controlled by a prisoner who was sentenced to life imprisonment.

North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi said the disclosure of the network began on Friday (8/9) in Ujung Serdang Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency, by securing the suspect RJ.

"Initially from RJ's hand, evidence was confiscated in the form of two ecstasy pills," said the North Sumatra Police Chief, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 13.

As a result of the development, RJ turned out to still have narcotics in a boarding house on Jalan Ekawarni, Medan Johor District, Medan City. Subsequently, a search was carried out and evidence was found in the form of 2 kg of methamphetamine, 4,250 happy five pills, four packs of 50.10 grams of methamphetamine, 220 ecstasy pills, four units of cellphones and electric scales.

"This network of narcotics trafficking is controlled by SK, prisoners with a life sentence. The decree controls the circulation of methamphetamine obtained from Tanjungbalai which is then circulated through syndicates involving RJ, I, A, and V," said Agung.

The role of RJ, said the Kapolda, was to control two warehouses in the Medan Johor area and Simpang Limun Medan, which were used as drug storage sites circulated by A and RJ. While finance controlled by V was assisted by I.

The Regional Police Chief revealed that RJ circulated drugs to the cities of Medan, Binjai, Belawan, Labuhanbatu, and Jakarta. The assets confiscated from the results of the SK network of drugs were cash worth Rp1.015 billion, CRV cars, Mitshubishi Lancer cars and one housing unit.

In addition, said the Kapolda, the Asahan Police also managed to arrest MU, a wooden ship passenger who came from Malaysia and brought 2 kg of crystal methamphetamine.

Then, on Wednesday (13/9) the North Sumatra Police also moved together with the Langkat Police and arrested R, a member of the Aceh network with 4 kg of methamphetamine evidence to be brought to Medan.

The Regional Police Chief said that the North Sumatra Police in the last 24 hours also secured 45 people consisting of seven users and 38 drug trafficking networks with evidence of 4.1 kg of methamphetamine, 56.08 kg of marijuana, 103 ecstasy pills, bong 15, 3 digital scales and Rp7.7 million in cash.

"We have a commitment to eradicate drug trafficking throughout North Sumatra which is outlined in five priority programs, one of which is joint enemy drugs," said the Kapolda.

"Furthermore, the program is carried out with drug eradication activities carried out simultaneously in all Polres ranks," he said.
