Lukas Enembe was Sentenced to 10 Years and 6 Months in Prison and a Fine of IDR 1 Billion

JAKARTA - Former Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe is considered guilty of committing criminal acts of corruption and gratification. So, the public prosecutor (JPU) charged him with imprisonment for 10 years and 6 months.

"Imposing a sentence of ten years and six months," said the prosecutor during the trial at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, September 13.

Apart from criminal sanctions, the prosecutor also demanded that Lukas Enembe pay a fine. The amount reached IDR 1 billion.

"(Sanction) A fine of IDR 1 billion," said the prosecutor

Originally, Lukas Enembe was charged with accepting bribes worth IDR 45.8 billion from several parties.

The details are IDR 10.4 billion from PT Melonesia Mulia, Piton Enumbi. Then, IDR 35.4 billion from the Director of PT Tabi Anugerah Pharmindo, Rijatono Lakka.

The money was given to Lukas Enembe to win the company owned by Piton and Rijatono in a project to procure goods and services within the Papua Provincial Government for the 2013-2022 Fiscal Year.

Meanwhile, for gratification, Lukas Enembe was charged with receiving IDR 1 billion. The money was obtained from the Director of PT Indo Papua Budy Sultan via Imelda Sun who sent it via Lukas' account number.

In this case, Lukas Enembe was charged with violating Article 12 letter a or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication Corruption Crime Jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st Criminal Code Jo. Article 65 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

Then, Article 12B of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes.
