Accident Kills 2-Year-Old Boy, NTB Governor's Wife Car Driver Becomes Suspect

The Central Lombok Police Traffic Unit named the car driver of the NTB Governor's wife as a suspect in the case of a fatal accident that killed a two-year-old boy on Jalan Bypass, Labulia Village, Jonggat District, Central Lombok.

"We have named the driver of the initials MZ from Kawo Village as a suspect," said Head of Central Lombok Police Traffic Unit Iptu Abdul Rachman in Praya, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Tuesday, September 12, confiscated by Antara.

The driver of the car is currently still conducting inspections, after completing the administrative process, a new detention is carried out for further legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the passenger of the car was only examined as a witness in the accident.

"For his actions, MZ is subject to Article 310 of the Criminal Code with a legal threat of 6 years in prison," he said.

From the results of the case title that has been carried out, the cause of the accident is due to concentration, where the car driver does not see the victims in front of him.

"The accident was discovered after the sound of a collision occurred. At the time of the incident the driver was not sleepy," he said.

Previously, the car carrying the wife of the NTB Governor with the initials SR (41) driven by MZ was involved in an accident on a motorbike on the Bypass road in Labulia Village, Jonggat District, Central Lombok Regency, resulting in the death of a passenger on a motorcycle with the initials MR (2) local resident, Saturday 9 September.

"The information involved in the accident was the Governor's Wife's car, this accident case has been handled by the Central Lombok Police Traffic Unit," said Jonggat Police Chief, Iptu Bambang Sutrisno.

Head of Laka Satlantas Central Lombok Police, Ipda Andika, said the fatal accident began when a JR motorcycle from Labulia Village with the victim came from East to West. Then when he was hit by a Honda HRV car driven by MZ came from the same direction.

"As a result of the accident, the Jupriadi driver and Asmin passenger were injured and treated at the Mataram Hospital. Meanwhile, the two-year-old MR passenger died at the Sedayu Health Center," he said.

After receiving the information, his party immediately went down to identify at the TKP and confiscate the vehicle involved in the accident for further legal proceedings.

"Vehicles have been confiscated for further legal proceedings," he said.
