Involved In Brawls And Bringing Sickles, KJP Dozens Of Students In South Jakarta Will Be Revoked

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Education Sub-department (Sudin) ensures that the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) belonging to students involved in the brawl case is revoked as a form of punishment that can cause a deterrent effect.

"We have previously carried out socialization (don't fight or smoke), therefore we do not hesitate to impose these sanctions on the perpetrators," said Head of the Basic Education and PKLK Section of the South Jakarta Education Sub-dept. Teguh Santosa, Monday, September 11.

Responding to the seven plans for brawls between students thwarted by the South Jakarta Police, Teguh emphasized that the policy of revocation of the KJP has been regulated as clearly as possible in Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 110 of 2021 in chapter VII articles 23, 24 and 26.

He assessed that students who were involved in the brawl and were proven to have provoked while preparing sharp objects to attack other people, were already involved in criminal acts that students should not think about.

Thus, the revocation of the card on the beneficiary is a form of further sanctions that deserve to be accepted, after the students do not heed the socialization of the education unit, not to be involved in disgraceful acts such as brawls, smoking, engaging in bullying to pornography.

However, Teguh stated that he still had to wait for a report on the progress of the case from the police regarding the number of students whose status rose as suspects before the revocation of the KJP was processed.

"We are still waiting for a report from the police. If it is proven (to be a suspect), it will be revoked. Never mind the brawl, let's just withdraw the smoking," he said.

Previously, South Jakarta Police Chief Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi stated that he had succeeded in thwarting seven student brawl plans in the local area for the period Saturday 9 to Monday 11 September, early in the morning.

A total of 38 people were arrested, with details of six adults and 32 others being underage students. His party has also secured evidence in the form of 11 sickles, an arrow, saw machete, golf club, cell phones and a number of two-wheeled vehicles.

It is known how students plan brawls, namely using Whatsapp groups, sending messages via Instagram accounts or gathering directly at night.

In order to anticipate this again, Ary appealed to the entire community to always supervise every child's activities and increase supervision if the child is not at home above 21.00 WIB.

Ary also asked that no child be allowed to gather on the side of the road at night, as a form of protection so that the child is not dragged into a case that is not carried out.
