KemenPPPA Appreciates KRL Sigap Station Officers Save Mother Gendong Baby Wants To Suicide

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) appreciates the security officers of the Pasar Minggu electric train service station (KRL) who are quick to take various measures to prevent acts to endanger mother and child.

"We appreciate the station security officers on guard and residents who swiftly make various prevention efforts," said Deputy for Child Special Protection of the Ministry of PPPA Nahar, Wednesday, September 6, as reported by Antara.

After learning about the incident at Pasar Minggu Station, he continued, the SAPA 129 Team of the Ministry of PPPA immediately coordinated with the South Jakarta Women and Children Protection (UPTD PPA) Implementation Unit (Satpel) to go to the scene.

"After conditions began to calm down and parents promised not to repeat their actions as outlined in the statement letter, at around 20.32 WIB, then the child and his parents were allowed to return to their destination," said Nahar.

Following up on this incident, the SAPA 129 Team coordinated with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Child Protection and Population Control Empowerment Service (PPAPP), the Women and Children Protection Agency (Sudin PPA) and the Integrated Service Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children (P2TP2A) South Jakarta City to ensure that mothers and children are in a safe condition.

For this purpose, the South Jakarta PPA UPTD Satpel has coordinated with the Head of Pasar Minggu Station to further explore the problems and needs of handling them.

"Given that the location of the victim's house and the actions that have been taken by the mother have an impact that can affect the safety of the child and the growth and development of the child, the SAPA 129 Team continues to coordinate with the PPPA Office at the location where the mother and child live to ensure that an in-depth assessment and further assistance are carried out so that they can prevent repeated actions," said Nahar.

Previously, a video circulated on social media showing officers at Pasar Minggu Station trying to calm a mother who allegedly wanted to commit suicide. In the video, other officers are seen holding the baby who is the mother's child.
