Cak Imin Becomes Anies Vice Presidential Candidate, PKS Brings Up Again The Red Ant Coalition

Secretary General of PKS Aboe Bakar Al Habsyi brought up the name of the red ant coalition that had been sparked when his party had explored political cooperation with PKB. Therefore, Aboe said, PKS received it with open arms when the candidate for the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) Anies Baswedan chose PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin as his companion vice presidential candidate. "If you remember, PKS was the first to make red ants. So we were against Muhaimin, there was no burden," said Aboe in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 5. Aboe said that until now there has been no rejection from the party ranks to support Cak Imin as an Anies vice presidential candidate. "Moreover, Muhaimin can cover areas that are not owned by many PKS, so we can fill each other in, so ahlan wa sahlan, we don't have a burden on us," said Aboe. It is known that the red ant coalition is a discourse that was initiated by PKS and PKB in June-July last year. However, the discourse of the coalition did not last long because PKB preferred to join the Gerindra Party. Currently, PKB is closer to Anies' coalition of supporters with PKS and NasDem as members.

Even so, Aboe emphasized that his party was still waiting for the Shura Council meeting regarding the support of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates who would be promoted by the party later. "Yes, Alhamdulillah, so indeed we are waiting for the Shura Council," he said.
