JAKARTA - One person died, while thousands of residents suffered the impact of Typhoon Saola that hit the Philippines, according to authorities.
The Philippine National Disaster Management and Risk Reduction Agency said in a statement Saola, or known to local residents of Topan Going, also had an impact on electricity and water supply in a number of areas in the Southeast Asian country.
Apart from Saola, the island nation was also damaged by Typhoon Hanna and Tropical Storm Kirogi.
Goring or Saola and Hanna are the seventh and eighth tropical cyclones, respectively, which hit the Philippines this year.
