Governor Edy Reminds ASN: I Prohibit Participating In Political Affairs, Your Job Is People's Welfare

The Governor of North Sumatra (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi asked all state civil servants (ASN) in the local provincial work environment to apply an honest, courageous, sincere and sincere attitude in their work so that targets can be achieved.

"If it is true, there is nothing more to be afraid of, must be brave, sincere, and sincere, that is called jihad," said Edy Rahmayadi after inaugurating 155 Primary High Officers, Administrators, Supervisors and Principals of the North Sumatra Provincial Government, in Medan, reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 1.

Edy Rahmayadi advised state civil servants, especially officials, not to get involved in practical politics ahead of the 2024 political year.

"I forbid you to participate in political affairs, because it is the Law (UU), the Law does not allow you to do politics, you are inducted in the affairs of the people's welfare performance," said Edy Rahmayadi.

According to Edy, the duty of ASN is to improve the welfare of the people. For this reason, ASN must work according to their respective main duties and functions.

"You guys have Jobdesk, you have a job there, besides that it's your job to also continue to improve your skills by learning," he said

Towards the end of his term of office, North Sumatra Governor Edy Rahmayadi inaugurated 155 Primary High Officials, Administrators, Supervisors and Principals within the North Sumatra Provincial Government.

This inauguration was carried out three days before Edy Rahmayadi's term ends on September 5, 2023.

"This is not the last inauguration. There is more," said Edy.

The former Pangdam I Bukit Barisan also denied that the inauguration was carried out for certain purposes.

"You guys just guess me. This is not a matter of interest, but about whether it is appropriate or not for this organization," said Edy.
