Kejari Rejang Lebong Check 20 Witnesses In Corruption RSUD Rp4.6 Billion

REJANG LEBONG - Investigators of the Rejang Lebong District Attorney's Office, Bengkulu Province, have examined 20 witnesses in the development of a criminal case of corruption in the construction of the Rejang Lebong Hospital laboratory worth Rp4.6 billion in 2020. "In the investigation of the alleged corruption case of the construction of the Rejang Lebong Hospital located in the Merigi District area, there were already 20 witnesses who were asked for information related to the alleged case. The witnesses examined did not rule out the possibility that it would increase, depending on the progress of the results of our investigation," said Head of Special Crimes (Pidsus) Kejari Rejang Lebong Albert S quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 29. Investigators of the Rejang Lebong District Attorney, Bengkulu Province are currently waiting for the results of the audit of state losses in the case of alleged corruption (tipikor) of the construction of this hospital laboratory. "Currently we are coordinating with BPKP regarding the real calculation of state losses in this activity," said Albert. He said the case of alleged laboratory corruption at RSUD Rejang Lebong in 2020 arose after findings that caused state losses due to volume shortages in its work. Previously, Kajari Rejang Lebong Francisco Tarigan said that his party was investigating allegations of corruption in the construction of the Rejang Lebong Hospital laboratory in 2020 worth Rp4.6 billion after indications of corruption and causing state losses reaching Rp500 million.

The investigation into the alleged corruption was then escalated to an investigation, where on July 13, 2023 investigators had searched the Rejang Lebong Regency Government's Goods and Services Procurement Work Unit (UKPBJ) office, as well as the Rejang Lebong Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKD) Office. Based on this sufficient evidence, they will then ask for information from a number of witnesses related to the construction of the Rejang Lebong Hospital laboratory to find out the person who is most criminally responsible in the activity.
