North Kalimantan Provincial Government Focuses On Development In 2024 To Improve Superior Products

North Kalimantan Governor Zainal Arifin Paliwang said currently the main focus of development in 2024 in his region is increasing industrial diversity and trade in regional superior products.

"This includes the development of various industrial, trade and service sectors as well as improving the quality of human resources through education and training," said Zainal in Tanjung Selor as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 28.

The Governor of Kaltara conveyed the priorities in the preparation of the budget and policy changes to the General Budget Policy (KUA) and the Priority of the Temporary Budget Ceiling (PPAS) for 2023 and 2024.

Zainal emphasized the importance of this collaboration in achieving the vision of "The Realization of the Revised, Advanced, and Prosperous Provinces of North Kalimantan".

He explained that to realize the achievement of the target of the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD), the Regional Apparatus Work Plan (RKPD) has been prepared as the basis for the preparation of the annual regional budget plan.

"This plenary meeting is also a forum for conveying a draft change in general policy of regional revenue and expenditure budgets as well as priorities and temporary budget ceilings in 2023," said Zainal.

As well as a draft general policy budget for regional income and expenditure as well as priorities and temporary budget ceilings for 2024. One of the discussions in this plenary meeting is the calculation of inflation in Kaltara Province since 2020.

The governor said that inflation in this province has increased, with the highest percentage reaching 7.98 percent in Tanjung Selor in 2022.

Although the global economy is still facing challenges, it is hoped that there will be improvements in 2024. The Ministry of Finance estimates that global economic growth will accelerate to three percent that year," said the Governor.

The Kaltara Provincial Government has also set ten development priorities for 2024, including the construction of the Mentarang River and Kayan River hydropower plant, the development of industrial estates and international ports as well as increasing connectivity in border and inland areas.
