DIY - The Animal Husbandry and Health Service (DPKH) of Gunungkidul Regency has completed the vaccination of livestock centers in the red and yellow zones.

The red zone anti-trax vaccination in Padukuhan Jati, Kalurahan Candirejo has been running since June 2023. Meanwhile, in the border area or prone to infection, it was completed recently.

"At the location of the infection (red zone) and the yellow zone directly adjacent to Padukuhan Jati have been completed. The anti-extraction vaccination targets cattle and goats," said Head of the Animal Health Division of the Gunungkidul DPKH, Retno Widiastuti, saying that in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), Tuesday, August 15, Antara confiscated it.

For vaccine stocks, he said, it was safe, because some time ago there were 11,107 doses of assistance from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). There is also no information about dead livestock.

"Vaccines are repeated every 6 months for 10 years," he said.

In addition, officers also disseminate information to the public about the dangers of neutral transmission. The public is given education about the slaughter of livestock according to the procedures.

"If you die suddenly, don't be slaughtered so that the risk of spreading the disease can be prevented," he said.

As a measure to anticipate the emergence of an anti-extraction case around the red zone location, continued Retno, officers watered the soil with formalin liquid. Although laboratory results state that the soil sample is negative, residents must remain vigilant.

"For livestock that have been vaccinated, the next stage is checked for antibody titers to find out their immunity," he said.

He said the Gunungkidul DPKH also prevented the lumpy skin disease virus (LSD). The case is harmless, but causes death and harm to farmers.

"We are also pursuing the LSD vaccine target, so the implementation tube (vaccine)," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the Gunungkidul DPRD, Suharno, asked that livestock vaccinations be carried out evenly. In addition to the red and yellow zones, it also targets other areas.

"Of course we all don't want the trend of attracting cases to increase and have a negative impact on farmers and farmers," said Suharno.
